Adam West, TV’s Batman, Dead At 88 After Battle With Leukemia

Known most for his iconic role as the tongue-in-cheek Caped Crusader on the infamous 1960s television series Batman, Adam West died late Friday night in Los Angeles after a short battle with leukemia. He was 88 years old. The actor then reached a new level of fame — and was introduced to far younger generations of TV and movie fans — with a voiceover role playing Mayor Adam West (!) in the animated TV series Family Guy decades later. According to family reports, the longtime actor died peacefully surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren, with the family going so far as to make a statement about his death: “Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives.
